Ok so I jailbroke my 2g with RedSn0w and now I just wan to go back to the legit firmware made by apple. When I clicked iTunes to restore it started to restore but then wouldn't complete because when it reset it, it wouldn't come back on due to the tether. So what I am asking, is there anyway to get rid of the jailbreak? Also when I put it into DFU mode and click restore it says "Software is not available for this iPod"

Should be able to just update next time a new firmware comes around, not sure though. Maybe try double clicking on the 2.2.1 firmware file to install?

Make sure you have a stock copy of the firmware, hit click SHIFT+Restore and select the firmware you want manually

As long as you have the correct firmware, shift click and choose your firmware, after the process is finished you will have a re-hyminated/re-virginized ipod.

and if you use "disable partition wipeout" in PwnageTool, then your storage is reduce by .5 GB, does a restore also remove this partition?
