I have an iphone 2g close to ending its one year warranty. Now it has developed some kind of battery problem (not holding charges), I plan to take it to the genius bar at the local apple store.

So this is the question, would apple replace the battery or hand me a refurb set (i'll be surprised if they do keep stock of it).

I am honestly not sure what they will do.

If they have any 2G's still around you'll probably get one of them; I doubt they will change the battery in house it will be sent out for that. You might get a 3G out of the deal but that might be up to the store.

    Let us know what happens.

Didn't your mom tell you to keep your tinfoil hat on all time time? You do not want THEM to listen, do you?
