Actually, Hackintosh is quite simple provided you have and Intel CPU, AMD Graphics card, and a usb keyboard and mouse. I didn't build my computer based around Hackintosh, but it turned out to be very compatible, and installation was a breeze (except for me not having a flash drive large enough or not having a usb keyboard). After all of that, it turned out that I hated OS X's interface so I switched back to 7. Anyways, it's ultimately up to you in what you want to do. But I'm just saying, if you're really set on getting the Macbook Pro Retina, at least try to not waste money on silly upgrades to the RAM and the SSD that are unnecessary.
Also, I agree that Macs are high quality, and most prebuilt PCs are terrible quality... nothing beats hand built PCs. As for laptops, well there are some good quality ones but Macbooks probably are the best, but their prices break it for most consumers.
Macs are not hand built PCs. I have pre-builds from 1995, 1998, 2004 and they all work fine. Even a 2004 Dell that has been in the most dusty environment you'll ever see in your life runs.
I didn't say Mac's were hand built, but actually they might be. I'm pretty sure iPhones and iPads are. Yes, if you treat them ok, they'll be fine; but if you dont treat them very well, the thin plastic and metal might give in.
They're made the exact same way every other pre-built computer is (Dell, HP, etc). They actually use the same factories (Foxconn) sometimes. iPhones and iPads are made the same way every other phone and tablet is...China. Cheap labor. Terrible working conditions. Terrible pay.
I just had to comment on the pay. You haven't lived in Asia. $1.50 an hour is Gold. It's REALLY excellent pay for a typical person in Asia. $1.50 can buy VERY much over there. Just saying. I've lived in Asia more than 12 years and know...
I heard a meal at McDonalds will run you about $3-$4 in China. ...And that they make about $.70/hour, not $1.50/hour. Asia is massive, I'm sure it's different across the map.
