    Hi people,

I was pretty bored last night so I converted loads of my normal icon apps to retina versions so that my phone finally looks the way it was intended.

I was wondering if there are others doing this and if we should share the icons so people with iPhone 4,s can look at there screen without seeing those old hideous icons?

Here are some pics of my phone with the retina icons let me know what you think and if people want them I will upload the icons somewhere.

    Enjoy

I'm surprised iTunes doesn't do that by default. I had this idea at one point also, but I don't have a 4.

you know this wouldve never been an issue if apple decided to use vector graphics for their icons instead of bitmap. But yeah 90% of those are not that hard to do, some illustrator skills would do and you could output them to a bitmap. Which is how i guess you've done, some of those are a lot simpler in Illustrator than Photoshop,

    THIS.

Imagine every icon being beautiful on the higher-resolution screen by default. It would be glorious.

But, alas, I'll have to actually do some work myself to get all of the icons matching. How sad.

you'd still have to adjust the vectors to accommodate the new resolution and maintain proper aspect within the new aspect ratio

    I really don't get this.
The IPA files (= the apps) already have the icons in much much larger resolution. All of them do.
Why the iPhone 4 doesn't show the higher res'?
You can view the higher resolution by going into iTunes selecting an app then click on the preview of the icon, it will show up in really big resolution.
