I searched around the forums and couldn't find the size of the retina SBdockBG@2x.png size.

I think it's 640 by 182 but that's just double the old dock size :S

Wouldn't it be double that for the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4? They have double the resolution of the older devices.

My point exactly. My iPod touch 4G uses all the @2x.png files.

I can't SSH and view the file because it seems encrypted :S
Ie. I can't open it in GIMP

Open the file and look at the dimensions, it's exactly what I stated.

both the normal picture and the @2x is the exact same size. I've been changing icons and things through ifile by sending it to my desktop to photoshop and they are the exact size/pixels.

I cant say if its the smaller pixels or the doubled,

I can't open the file in GIMP so I guess I'll just have to take your word for it.

When making a retina image, do I need to change the pixels per inch to something higher than 72?

I just can't see how the retina version is the same size :S

PPI is only used in programs like Photoshop in reference to printing. Double your resolutions, yes.

Okay, thanks for all the responses, but they all conflict.

320x41 seems to be my best bet, but can someone explain why retina isn't higher resolution than the non-retina?
