I am trying to restore to my pwned firmware, in iTunes I did the restore to the 221pwn.ipsw file, and now it's just stuck on preparing iPod for restore, and won't do anything,

    Help???

It's been "stuck" for how much time?

I'm waiting for the same thing... I've been trying to fix this all day ...to no avail.
I tried rejailbreaking, restoring to pwnd ipsw, and to normal 2.2.1 ipsw numerous times.
Every time iTunes says "preparing ipod for restore", while the iPod touch shows the apple logo but no progress bar. I have no idea what to do...

And then after a while the iPod turns off and itunes gives an error : "The ipod (ipod) could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2005)."

you have to execute the preliminary commands, you cant just throw a custom firmware onto an iPod without first applying the exploits (thats the iRecovery and the weird codes)
