I get an error 10 when trying, but can restore to 2.2.1 with no problem. I've tried at least 3 times, and get the same thing each: Error 10. Help? Lol.

Maybe you have to update it legally?

Seriously, this is the first thing people say and honestly, you're not helping, at all. Assuming people got it illegally simply because it's not working is a terrible assumption.

His problem is that he needs to update his iTunes to 8.2.

Thank you for defending me bud, I could of sworn I was up-to-date, therefore I didn't think of that. Lol.

    Note: Updating NOW! Thanks.

all these rich loners tell us to pay for it... but what if we cant.. mine updated fine.. and did it work after all? lemme know.. updating to 8.2 seems to fix a lot of things... once you get it to 3.0 you can jailbreak it with redsn0w 0.7 which you can search for on [PIRACY.tb].. cant post the link for some reason cause they already banned me once... when it asks you to browse.. its located at C:/Documents And Settings/Your_Username/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPod Software Updates... make sure you have "show hidden files or folders" enabled.

iTunes 8.2 is probably why lol, but you could also try DFU'ing and shift-clicking restore
