I followed the thread that gave the "easiest" way to downgrade back to 1.1.1

I use the Power + Home in iTunes and it turns off, but when I turn it back on ( it does not turn on automatically) it'll just show the unlock screen. I need to get back to 1.1.1 because my jailbreak is messed up.

    1. Open iTunes
    2. Hold down home and power buttons
    3. Let go of the power button (top one) when your ipod touch disconnects from itunes (iPod Touch icon disappears)
    4. Let go of the home button when the ipod touch reconnects (iPod Touch icon reappears)
    5. iPod should be in restore mode
    6. Shift restore to 1.1.1

Edit: You need the 1.1.1 firmware here is all the firmware on this site

    This is a bunch easier...

    1. Turn the iPod off

    2. Hold the home button, and connect the iPod cable

    3. Keep holding it until it goes in recovery mode

    iTunes will ask to restore.

Because you need to time everything on the other ways!

Just turn it off and hold the home button and plug it in! I even put it in my signature because im tired of saying it over and over again.
