    Hello.
First off I'd like to say that I know what I did was stupid, and that I don't need a lecture.

Alright, now off to the problem.

I updated my iPod Touch 2G to the 3.0 OS for Developers, although I am not a paid Developer.
My iPod Touch is now stuck in Restore Mode and I can't restore the iPod through iTunes. I Shift+Click "Restore", and choose my firmware file (I've tried 2.2.1, and the 1.1.5 firmwares), it says "Preparing iPod Touch for Restore", and then an error comes up about 5 minutes later saying "An Unknown Error has occurred and we could not restore your iPod. Error code 1604" or something along those lines.

Alright, now I was wondering a few things.
Firstly, is there ANY other program out there that lets you restore your iPod WITHOUT iTunes?
And if not, how could I go about fixing this problem with my iPod not restoring?

    Thank you,

    Hypercore.

Try a DFU Restore. I'm pretty sure that it will work.
I'd update just to try it, but I don't feel like losing my stuff and pirating a beta...

I will test out the DFU mode then downgrading my iTunes.
Will post again to say if it worked or not.

EDIT - Holy f*** I think DFU mode worked, it's actually showing a load screen on the iPod now.

    Your fault for pirating 3.0.

Lol, why didn't you try DFU mode first? That usually works...
