So I changed the password on my iPod and promptly forgot it...I looked up instructions on how to fix this and succeeded in putting my iPod into restore mode or whatever...but now whenever I hit "restore" on the iTunes screen, it says I don't have the latest version of iTunes and should get it and try again. The first time, that was true...but I have since downloaded the latest version I can find, the one on the Apple site, and I still get the same message.
I miss my iPod. Can someone help me? Or will I have to go to the Apple store?

First search Ipod 2.2.1 firmware on google and download that. Then in iTunes you have to SHIFT+CLICK the restore button. It should open a window. Then in that find the firmware that you downloaded and click open. It should restore.
