I tried to restore to factory 3.0 and it seems I have gotten stuck at the restore process. Apple logo with the process bar is displayed but nothing is happening. I just got a 1604 iTunes error. Any ideas?

EDIT: I held Home+Power and it reset, then Recovery Mode. I'm attempting to restore through this now.

If recovery mode doesn't work try to put it in dfu mode.

Im positive. When I go to let go of the power button, the recovery logo pops up again. I can completely shut off the iPod when its unplugged. Then I hold both buttons for 10 seconds, the Apple logo comes up then at 10 seconds I let go of the power button and hold the home button and it goes to recovery mode again.

hmmm. idk what to say. I'm pretty sure there's a program that puts it in dfu for you, I forgot what it was though

Np. Hope all goes well for you. You bought the software from iTunes? Right?

GM. And like 2 days after I got it, I went to DFU and then just hit restore instead of shift-click restore, it downloaded it again and then I restored.

Now I just got into DFU mode and its still doing the same thing, it says "Preparing iPod for restore" for like 5 minutes, then it says the iTunes error.

EDIT: I didn't want to have to do this because I'm pretty sure it deletes all my backups saved from iTunes, but I reinstalled iTunes. I went to Apple.com and downloaded the newest version so I hope it didnt get rid of my backups. Can anyone tell me if it deletes my backups while installing a new version of iTunes? Thank you.
