I am having problems restoring my Ipod Touch 2G after having to be forced to restore after a problem updating.

Every time I try to restore my Ipod I cannot seem to get past "Restoring Ipod Software". It always freezes at the same point, disallowing me to finish restoring.

All I have on my Ipod currently when turned on is a usb cable sign and the itunes logo.

I have tried countless solutions: restarting computer, 'holding the home button' solution, downloading jailbreak files (ibrickr, blackra1n). Someone help please! I am on the verge of replacing my ipod touch.

I've heard of it before, but not tried it. How do I use it?

It should be just a black screen in DFU mode.
