So I restore to iOS4 and I get stuck in Recovery Mode right as it finishes restoring. The part when iTunes says to wait for your iPod to reboot, my iPod will be in Recovery Mode. I have an iPod touch 2G and iTunes 9.2 on Windows 7 x64. Help?

I've tried restoring it at least 5 times now. DFU restore, Recovery restore, updating from 3.1.3. No dice.

well, if you have the GM and itunes 9.2, just do a shift-click restore.

only problem is, if you want to jailbreak the 4.0 GM, you need a mac.
