How do I restore my ipod to factory condition? I want to wipe everything from my ipod.

Do I just click restore or do I have to go into DFU mode and click restore?

What is the difference between the 2?

Clicking restore does wipe out everything and replaces the filesystem as well. But DFU wipes out everything and is better if not safer to fully clear the iPod. It is better to put it into DFU mode then hold SHIFT and click restore and choose the firmware in your Apple Folder. May I ask why you want to?

ALSO: If you arent jailbroken, you should just click the restore button, it makes it a lot easier.

I have a lot of space taken up in the "other" section on the ipod and I heard that restoring it is the only way to get rid of it.

If I upgrade my firmware, does that wipe the ipod too?

    I am not jailbroken

Well just restore, then sync your iPod back and see if that fixes the problem. Dont do DFU, just click restore. Come back and tell us the results.
