I attempted to jailbreak my 2G, got to the bit where you have to restore to custom firmware but it leaves an error 'the ipod cannot restore due to a unknown error 6' ive also have the error 14 and 2002. I also cannot restore back to normal firmware.

I try to put in DFU mode, but when i do it just says restore mode on pc,

And when im trying to restore i can hear the sound of a UsB being removed (you know the DUN DON sound)

    What do i do.

I tried holding the volume up button as some people says it helps, but it didnt.

Ive tried all the things it says on the apple website, so dont just link me to that like ive seen others doing.

Are you shift-clicking the restore button, after you have the patches in your ipod, and being able to choose your firmware?

Just use redsn0w (as I have been telling everyone). It automatically puts it in DFU mode.

You have to keep trying DFU. You have to be very exact with your timing, or just try Restore mode which is with your ipod off and unplugged plug it in holding the home button and keep holding it until it says connect to itunes.
