I'll be buying a 15" Macbook Pro in a few weeks and I just wanted some input on some online resellers.

Has anyone bought their Macbook or any Apple product from either Mac Connection or ClubMac and if so how was the service and the product once you received it?

EDIT: My stupidity overlooked something and clubmac does charge tax, so Mac Connection remains, anyone bought anything through them?

The darn thing is expensive enough as it is and I'm trying to save every buck I can. . I'd rather not buy through Apple because of the $150 tax, making the student discount they were "gracious" enough to offer, obsolete. IMO.

You can also get a free iPod touch (with rebate) if you use Apple. You get what you pay for.

I know about the iPod rebate, I just didn't want to be troubled with selling it. On the plus side, I also get a free printer as well.

So does anyone have any experience with Mac Connection?

I have not used them, but unless they're an authorized reseller, I don't think you get apple's free 1 year warranty.

Why not buy from Apple? Their customer service is excellent, they give free shipping, and it all goes really smooth.

Unless you're getting an absolutely stellar deal, I'd go with Apple.

They charge me $160 in sales tax in my state. :X

Maybe I should make a trip up to Oregon, haha.

Call me cheap, but I'm just trying to save anything I can. I might end up going with Apple though, as selling the iPod touch might balance the tax out. Free printer as well, and I thought that promotion had ended July 20th!

    California, eh?

I didn't take tax into account - I always forget that almost every other state has sales tax. D:

I got my MacBook shipped to my door for $749. No tax for me.
