    Hi there,

some years ago in my free time at school I amused myself building bridges with a game called Bridge Builder. It's a simple 2D-game where you can put bars together to build a bridge over a river. There are just some given points where you can fix the bridge to and the higher the level, the wider the river is. If you think your bridge is ready to be build, you let a train test the stability. It drives over the bridge and you can switch to a scientific view where the color of the bars indicate how much weight rests on them. If the weight gets too high, the bar will break and in most cases the bridge will collapse. By building arches or other known types of bridges you can improve the stability. The controls of the PC-Version are easy, just klick twice to set the starting- and the endpoint of a bar to build it. There is a grid where these points are attached. Right klick will remove the bar.

Reprogramming this app would probably be a lot of work, since there are some physical rules which have to be kept in mind, but maybe there is an easy option?

There are a lot of clones around, like Pontifex (which has to be paid) or "Bridging the Gap".

Here are some pictures of the original Bridge Builder and the official website:

I am giving a thumbs down to most mouse-driven games....for now
until some better way of mousing is available, like a virtual trackball

I think it's a good idea. A better free bridge builder would be Westpoint Bridge Builder though. Better graphics and better controls.

controls would be simple. its a touch screen!
the bridge area would have to be bigger to make more precise bar placements, and swiping could be used to delete bars (or add bars)
with or without good controls, i doubt someone would make this.
    (i wish they would though
