    Hi,

I bought an Ipod Touch (1G) 8GB last August from Argos.

Just recently (last couple months) the home button had gone funny.
Sometimes it works, sometimes is doesnt. Sometime I only press it once, and it thinks that I've doubble pressed it, and when I HAVE double pressed it, that doesn't work either.

I was also a bit irritated by the fact that about a week after I bought my Ipod, the 2G version came out! I wasnt happy, so I've also been considering selling my current one, and buying the newer version.

Either way, I've had a thought:

If I take the Ipod back to argos, (it's still under warranty) they should replace it for me because it's not working properly.

This is when I had my idea!

I guess they dont make the old versions (1G version) of Ipod Touch now, as there is newer version, so they will have to replace it with the new (2G) version!!
    Hehe!

Do you guys (and girls) think this is likely to happen? I hope it will

More likely it will be replaced with a refurbished 1G, but you could get lucky...

But they only sell NEW products in Argos, so...surley they don't have refurbs out the back.... or would they send it to apple for me? hmmmm

If i knew that the 2G was coming out, i would have waited.

Wow, that is really bad timing... You can try to exchange your 1G touch @ Argos and who knows, luck may be on ur side...

Haha, well thanks guys, I'll give it a go. The worst they can do is give me a refurb. They can't refuse to replace/repair it if it's under wannanty

I badly wanted to do this myself, but they will most likely repair rather than replace.

Finally! The one other person in the world who recognizes thumbs are not fingers!

So... Wanna hang out some time? lol
