Ok, So i cracked my 2nd gens screen, the digitizer is fine, however its completely messed up. I do have a 1st gen that is not cracked however, would it be possible to merely put the 1st gens screen on the 2nd gen? would there be any problems in doing this? I am fully aware of the dangers of disassembling either one, and accept what may happen

I wouldn't reccomend it, and I don't think it's possible; The 2G has a different setup inside to the 1G.

But here's a guide for repairing a 1G touch to give you an idea what's in store (couldn't find one for a 2G

I wouldn't recommend it either, as the 1st Generation model uses a different type of glass than the 2nd Generation.
