My case came with this screen protector made of thick plastic that was formed to the dimensions of the ipod touch display (e.g. no cutting, it was made specifically for it.) It bonded using static cling and was basically perfect for the job. But it took a few heavy scratches (none of which made it to the screen!) and I need a replacement.

What brand sells these kind of thick screen protectors, pre-cut for the ipod touch 1g?

Anti Glare from apple. Don't know if it is for 1g. From my experience the anti glare is a pain to clean and put on perfectly. (Lots of Dust.) And when in the sun it looks slightly funny, and the video quality drops slightly.

    Aren't there any that don't have anti-glare, that's just a piece of see-through film?

I have their anti-glare one, and i love it. NO FINGERPRINTS!, no reduced quality as far as i can tell. You can pick them up at the apple store too

I have the anti-glare also, it works. But it is a pain to clean and then put on. One speck of dust and you have to begin the cleaning process all over again.
    1. Steam
    2. Wash with a cloths
    3. Scotch Tape to take any dangling dust
    4. Put on anti-glare as carefully as you can.

But there is a reduced quality, when watching videos, and playing games. I notices it because I am constantly looking at my ipod touch. But the feeling of the screen feels smooth.
