I have the original Smokin' Buds and I love them. Next I'm going to upgrade to V-Moda Vibes.

Great price, and the price:sound quality ratio is one of the highest you'll get.

I advise the sennheisser cx300's, they are 15 dollars more, but they have very nice sound quality. I used both the stock apple headphones and the sennheiser cx300's, and I could tell the difference immediately. the cx300's are much clearer, and crisper, and it sounds like the sound is in your head, as opposed to muffled and coming from the outside.

They are still stereo, so yes it does if you have dual channel audio. I just plugged them into my computer and went into winamp or whatever and set the balance be all right. Which ever one of the two buds goes is the right one; I just used a little black from a Sharpie marker to mark it as the right one.

    Device:
    2G iPod touch
    it IS balanced
he just used winamp to test which side what sound was playing on
like he set it to left on his computer and sound only came out of left
that does not effect how they were sent to you

Get V-moda Vibes. If the stock buds are really 40, it is definitely worth the extra cash to get the vibes. A good cheap alternative is the skullcandy ink'd. $15 at Circuit City and they sound decent.
