I just replaced my battery in my 1g ipod touch, you have to solder the 3 wires and sh*t but anyways i put it back together and when i turn it on the apple comes up and then after a second or 2 it shuts off. Does it just need a long charge? Can someone that has replaced a battery successfully help me out.

Its been charging all day and still it just goes to the apple screen and turns off or just stays there. Has anyone actually replaced a battery before that has any tips, could there just be not enough connection and i might need to resolder? also what can you actually damage by accident? the whole process seemed to go perfect everything is plugged back in right and screws are back where they are suppose to be
