ok, i bought an ipod touch 2g 8gb with cracked glass and i think i can fix it myself easily, i've taken apart psp's and what not for years and fixed them, well i bought from a reliable seller on ebay and ordered the glass and it has the digitizer already on it, what i'm worried about now is the home button can i transfer it from the old glass to the new one? or do i need to order another part? also is there detailed instructions online?

    Thank you soo much!

Lots of instructions online and I believe the home button is hardwired to the digitizer now

awesome, so it should be fairly easy, pop off old glass and unclip digitizer then pop in new glass and hook up digitizer? hopefully its painless, i'm fixing it selling it and upgrading to a 16 gb

not sure how painless it will be but I believe you need a couple special tools also

It's not that bad there is a tkae apart tutorial on here and the only problem is gluing the digitizer on. And no the home button is not hard wired to digitizer its just lose on the inside.

Good luck PM me for help i just did this a few weeks ago for my iPod. Word of advice is use an easy open tool that comes with the new digitizer cause a ravor knife will destroy the finish

Here it is for 1G should be realatively similar:

the digitizer is already on the new glass, so that won't be hard at all, i just need to learn about the home button
