If you have a theme that comes with a lot of icons, but you're still missing some of the customized icons, you can rename some other icons for apps you don't have.

    Video tutorial here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySAu0WmdSc0
    Text version below.

    You will need:
    iFile
    A brain**

    1. Install iFile from Cydia, and open it up.

    2. Go to the path "/library/themes"

    3. Find the theme you want to change the icons on and then open it up along with the folder called "icons" inside.
    (*THEME NAME*/icons/)
(Depending on how many icons are in the theme it may take a while to load.)

    4. Now before you rename anything, make sure that there are no similar icons
(for instance, if you had the NES app, it may have been written as "nes4iphone" or something like that.)

    5. If there are no similar icon names, go ahead and search around for an icon that matches the app you want the icon for.

    6. Once you are at the point where you have found an icon, click the blue arrow on the right hand side.
    (wait for it to load)

7.Then change the name to the app you want.
(Please keep in mind that it IS case sensitive!)
(Now remember to keep the .png at the end.)
Now that you are done changing the name, go ahead and press done.

    8. Once it goes back to the list of all the icons, press the home button, no respring required.
You should have your icons the way you want them now.

**I understand a lot of folks on the internet do not have brains. To perform tutorials, I recommend you get one.

Could you AT LEAST take the time to number it? This would be very confusing to a new comer. Pictures also make it much better and easier to understand.

You sir, need to use your brain.

One more thing though: People who are on dial-up might find YouTube to be a hassle, as it takes a while to load.

Other than that, this could have been a good tutorial.

Thanx the Rename app works good. Is there anyway to rename "Music" to "iPod"? With or without a cpu?

Will fix it up after this post.

Yes but you don't know what you need to rename it to because you can't look in the guts of your themes.

Not that I know of. I remember getting it for free without any illegal sources. Maybe I'm just wrong. I dunno.

The full version of iFile is paid, but you can use it for free. Anyway, it's a great program, and it's worth the money.

Working on photo's now, and could some admin or mod change the topic title to "Renaming Icons for Themes - No Computer Required!"? It gets the message across better. Would greatly appreciate
