    I have managed to hide the installer icon by putting it in the special category, but the SMB Prefs icon refuses to hide even when I have put it in the same category.

    Is there no way to hide this icon?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Move it to the "special" section of the plist file. You should already see "demo" and another app in the special section.

    That is what I did, it seems to hide everything else, but it won't hide that, even when I put it there...

    Make sure you have exactly the xml I have posted here under the 'Special' Category of your N45AP.plist. The capitalisation is very important.

    HTML:
    		<dict>
    			<key>displayIdentifier</key>
    			<string>com.apptapp.SummerBoard</string>
    		</dict>

    Thanks a lot! It worked now, I'm not really sure what I was going wrong before...it must have been the caps.

    it was driving me crazy, I just couldn't figure it out.

    Customize works great if you don't want to edit your plist file. I hid all of the icons because I don't like clutter. I only have Music and Video on the bar and the rest of the apps I can quickly launch from the dock. Can upload a screenshot if you like.

    Can you only use customize if you don't have summerboard installed?
