After getting the "no header" error and having no packages in cydia at all I decided to remove it through terminal using apt-get remove cydia thinking that doing apt-get install cydia would install it back again. I was wrong. It gives me an error when trying to install it. I also tried installing it using a .deb file but my iPod could never install .deb files using the dpkg method for some reason. I really don't want to rejailbreak because everytime I do it takes me about 3 hours to get everything back the way it was....

Any suggestions? The only thing I can think of is using a .app but I never really had luck with those either. Maybe I was just doing it wrong. My iPod is so messed up and it always has been. I don't know why I can't install .deb files....

Wouldn't that put my iPod back to factory defaults? That's the last thing I want to do, is there any other option?

Use the 'RedSn0w' jailbreak and you will get cydia back and keep all your files

This helped me too because it did the same thing for me.
