    Hi Guys,

My original thread is located here: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=273797 - I couldn't get the link to work, you may need to manually delete the first part of the URL in your browser window (sorry)

I created that thread a few weeks ago about un-jailbreaking. I did, it all went smoothly - thanks for your help.

Except, when it was jailbroken, I installed some app that let me change the word 'iPod' in the status bar, I changed it to 'Jack' to remind myself of my name on nights out

After restoring, TWICE, to apparently remove the jailbroken data, I reinstalled my backup. Everything was un-jailbroken.

Except I only notice today (duhhhh) that it still says 'Jack' and not 'iPod'.

I swear it's definitely unjailbroken? No other Jailbreak 'features' are present anymore that I can find... This doesn't really bother me but obviously if I need to take the device into store for a repair or whatever, I don't want them seeing obvious signs of the Jailbreak.

    Thanks for the help
    Jack

    DONT RESTORE FROM A BACKUP

DO a dfu restore and DONT reinstall your backup cause by doing so many of the jail broken files are being sync back

You need to set up as a new iPod, try check out previous pre-jailbreak backups

If you used MakeItMine, then it changes a file in the system. A simple restore keeps system files. A DFU restore should get rid of ALL files and reinstall them back. DFU restore is your best bet.

I went with narwal's suggestion - but it still says 'Jack'. Fail. Thanks for the help though...

Does this mean I'll have to set up as a new device?! In which case, what do I do about all my data?!

you'll have to sync it, not restore from a backup.

Will all my App Store app data still remain, or will this all be gone?

Option 1 Sync all your data to your iTunes and then restore your iPod, and then set up a new iPod.

Option 2 Jailbreak your device again, Install MakeItMine and change 'Jack" back to 'iPod' and then un-jailbreak.
