this is just a reminder to anyone who does anything with graphics. always make a psd of your finished graphic before exiting photoshop or gimp or whateer you use (sorry, no psds for paint, but without layers who cares?)

I just finished making some graphics for my ipod and forgot to save them as .psd before exiting. I put them into my ipod and found a problem with them. now I have to start over.

plus, with a psd you can customize things later.

just a reminder, I like making sure people can do things as effectively as possible (hence my gradient tutorial thread earlier)

psd works in gimp too. I cant remember if you can save psd in gimp but you can open and edit psd files with gimp

It's such a pain in the arse if you forget to save the psd or if photoshop crashes and you've not saved, I have done it so many times! Once I was doing a Podcast cover for a client and it froze and then exited. I hadn't saved either.

So yeah, remember kids! Save the psd file regularly!

Yeah I'll vouch for this, was looking at some icons I made last night and realized they'd look better without a black border only to realize that I didn't save the PSD file, only the template I made
