    Just got a Update message on my Ubuntu laptop, Currently downloading and preparing the Update. Hope this is gonna be cool

    Upgrade your current system:
    http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading

    Ubuntu Releases a new Upgrade every 6 Months. You needto make sure you have all Updates for 8.10 BEFORE you Upgrade.

    I installed it earlier, but went back to 8.10 b/c it didn't work with synergy :/

    There's hardly nothing new in it. I changed back to 8.10 too. But I'm not a very experienced Linux user. But I didn't notice very many things that were new. Except the login screen.

    Lol. +1.
    There are lots of changes... It now uses ext4 instead of ext3, the boot process is more streamlined, I'm almost 90% sure that the kernel has better disk performance, xorg 1.6, etc...

    Trust me, you'll notice the difference if you try anything multimedia.

    Yes. Ext4 is actually pretty good. Not quite ZFS though.
    Sorta. The boot sequence doesn't include network set up now, so it takes much shorter, but it configures after you boot, so you have to wait 30 seconds or so... Idk other than that.

    After experiences with ext3, I'm slightly skeptical at their new releases.

    I've got ext4 on my Macbook's drive and an external.

    Nothing impressive, but it works fine.
