Well it's worth a try?
how can i ssh without jailbreak?
ok really to anyone who says this is just a copy from iphone, doesnt actually do anything, etc. how about trying it yourselves? i did and it worked. i cant pair but my computer can see it and knows its some sort of music device. tell me.. if it doesnt do anything why can my computer magically find it now?
because even though you unlocked bluetooth capabilities for the chip and for settings, none of your pps (such as music) know bluetooth is unlocked. there are probably a bunch of different bluetooth settings hidden in the 3.0 FW
but if theres anything else you need from that fw, just change the .ipsw at the end to .rar and extract it with winrar (or its mac equivalent)
Why would one tether an iPhone to an iPod? It would be much better to just use it on the iPhone, or even just to use WiFi tethering between them instead of bluetooth.

Oh!!! Ok, I thought it said iPhone there... sorry!
Haha, it's just fine. it is pretty ambiguous out of context
OK u guys aren't very smart. The problem isn't that springboard patch. The problem is the device tree. I have a 2g ipod touch 3.0 software and i looked at the boot components and the device tree is 1kb bigger. That 1kb is probably bluetooth!!!! As we speak i am jailbreaking my ipod touch 2.2.1 with that new device tree and then when it will boot up and i will install open ssh and install the bluetooth menu and hopefully it will work!!!
------------------double post merged------------------ok i did all that and it still won't work. I think the problem is that you guys might just be taking it off of the iPhone stack. I have tried multiple times to jailbreak 3.0 but it never quite works, so i can't get the stack file off of that. I also do not have a .dmg file viewer so i cannot get it directly of off the .ipsw file. But i did manage to grab the device tree file and put it in 2.2.1, i would upload it but copyright infrigment so i cant. But also before with just the stack file it went off almost as soon as i touch it and now it turns off after a few seconds. It also has the bluetooth icon up in the taskbar for that lengh that it is on and it says searching for devices. I will get back to you as soon as i figure out a way to get it to work, or I will update you on my progress.
I THINK I ALMOST GOT IT!!!! What i did --- I have the N45AP.plist file on there, and what i did was i went to the nike+ipod setting i selected search for sensor, (the bluetooth icon now poped up) then i held it down untill it said it will run in background, then i opened up sweettooth, it wouldn't start up it would just go to the loading screen so i force quit sweettooth and then i clicked on settings app (it crashed because of limited resources) then i went to bluetooth turned it on and i get this screen that is attached. It just stays at this screen the whole time. I SUCCESSFULLY PAIRED MY IPOD WITH MY COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!! WITH NO PASSKEY THAT IS. I tried transfering a file but that didn't work we still need a program that will do that. Also when it paired my ipod didn't ask me anything so that might not be that good cause then anybody can connect to my ipod.
------------------double post merged------------------OK i think we should be working on a jailbreak for 3.0 2g not bluetooth. If we acomplish jailbreak for 3.0 we can get bluetooth so much easier!
there is no screen attached
