To get to the point, iRun is a background process that will automatically detect an iPod in recovery mode and send 'run rs' to it. It is based off iRecovery so it will work on all platforms (mac, windows, and linux). And yes, it requires libusb. Downloads for mac and windows are here: http://code.google.com/p/fiftyfour123/downloads/list Download for linux here: http://outgoing.ifans.com/?d=aHR0cDovL3dpbGxob3N0Zm9yZm9vZC5jb20vYWNjZXNzLnBocD9maWxlaWQ9NTc3NDg~ Thanks to Wowfunhappy. If someone could compile for linux and send it to me, that would be great. You can also checkout the source from svn if you would like, here: http://code.google.com/p/fiftyfour123/source/browse/#svn/trunk/iRun. USAGE: Code: ./irun -r Send 'run rs' to an iPod in recovery mode ./irun -d Wait for an iPod to send 'run rs' NOTE: If anyone knows how to start the daemon with the -d argument and leave it running without the command prompt open, please tell me. If you are using windows, and get an error about cygwin1.dll then read this: Special thanks to chronic, westbaer, tom3q for making iRecovery. Also, thanks to Legendairy for coming up with the idea. Of course, big thanks to the iphone-dev team for the redsn0w exploit and run rs.
