To get to the point, iRun is a background process that will automatically detect an iPod in recovery mode and send 'run rs' to it. It is based off iRecovery so it will work on all platforms (mac, windows, and linux). And yes, it requires libusb.

Downloads for mac and windows are here: http://code.google.com/p/fiftyfour123/downloads/list
    Download for linux here: http://outgoing.ifans.com/?d=aHR0cDovL3dpbGxob3N0Zm9yZm9vZC5jb20vYWNjZXNzLnBocD9maWxlaWQ9NTc3NDg~
    Thanks to Wowfunhappy.

If someone could compile for linux and send it to me, that would be great. You can also checkout the source from svn if you would like, here: http://code.google.com/p/fiftyfour123/source/browse/#svn/trunk/iRun.

    USAGE:
    Code:
./irun -r Send 'run rs' to an iPod in recovery mode
./irun -d Wait for an iPod to send 'run rs'
    NOTE:
If anyone knows how to start the daemon with the -d argument and leave it running without the command prompt open, please tell me.

If you are using windows, and get an error about cygwin1.dll then read this:

Special thanks to chronic, westbaer, tom3q for making iRecovery.
Also, thanks to Legendairy for coming up with the idea.
Of course, big thanks to the iphone-dev team for the redsn0w exploit and run rs.

It may be that simple on windows, but on mac it's a little more compilcated. I guess I can release it, but there may be some problems with it. Check the first post in a couple minutes for the release.

You can just tell the people to place it into the Logon items in Accounts but if you prefer using launchd I guess I can't complain...

At first I was going to use my silent booter file along with DSW (do something when, excellent little program) but I didn't know how to make it detect if an iPod is in recovery mode so that it doesn't run every time.

Can't wait to see where this goes

Make sure you make it easy enough to disable so it doesnt mess with firmware restores. If you need to restore for some reason.

I see alot of noobs having it running then a new firmware comes out and they go to update it but cant because there ipod keeps jamming up in DFU or Recovery mode.

Oh and remember you have to release the source that its based on iRecovery.
