Alright so at the iDroid project forums, two devlopers have released two versions of iDroid Froyo (ver 2.2).

    Bluerise Info
One is from Bluerise. There wasn't a change log or much of a description with his release, however there is a readme included with the package:

    Code:
iDroid: Android on your iPhone 3G
    =================================

This is a unofficial release of iDroid based on Android 2.2.
Don't expect performance, stability or features.

    1. Installation Requirements
    ----------------------------

You need to have OpeniBoot installed on your device.
Instructions are available in the iDroid Project Wiki.

You also need to grab the Zephyr (multitouch) driver.

    2. Installation
    ---------------

Put the Zephyr driver and the Marvel WLAN driver into

    /private/var/firmware/

    on your iPhone.

If you want to use have settings or want a new unique device id
you can create a totally empty userdata.img (as long as it's formatted
with ext2). It might hang on the first couple of times.

After the initial boot, you have to do

            INSERT INTO secure (name, value) VALUES ('device_provisioned', 1);

    Using sqlite3 in the database

            /data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db

If the device is not "provisioned", it will automatically reject all incoming
    calls. Very stupid.

    3. Usage
    --------

Reboot your device, select Android, have fun!

The sdcard directory is symlinked to /private/var/sdcard/
You can put all your sdcard stuff in there!

    \Bluerise

    Dario Info
The other release is from dario, which his latest version is 0.1.3.

His idea, change log and future plans are:

    Code:
    The idea:
Starting to create a production release of iDroid for when we finish developing all the drivers. And creating it much faster than other mobile phones android. Yes we can ;)

    What I have done:
    1) Rebuild everything in Release. Didn't change much, smaller size, damn ugly clock I'll change soon
    2) Included full accelerometer support
    3) Reduced android.img.gz.

    Checklist:
[]1) Remove logger from kernel, loggerd, debuggerd, everything to speed up the thing.
[x]2) Reduce android.img.gz further, there are some lib used that can be removed as long as other binaries, they are supposed to do simple stuff, no need for the full stuff
[]3) Replace horrid Clock and put back the ol' good one
    []4) Resize img footprint
    []5) Fix the umount thing
[]6) Remove terminal logging kernel messages and center log. Uhm, more drastically, even remove printk support from kernel, further reducing kernel memory footprint.

Credits go to Bluerise, dario, Nickp666 (host of the NickPack iDroid repo).

    Nickp666 Info:
Nick is the host of the iDroid repo and also a developer. He has recently modified dario's release to improve on certain features. His percise developer quality info can be found here:

In fact there is both 2.0 and 2.2 for iTouch, 2.0 was taken down however. But the iTouch has always had a head start compared to the phones. Anyways, go progress!

Just tried Dario and I'm stuck at "radio: reading baseband nvram... done"

Edit: Used Alex's kernel with it and it seems to be working now... well its booting now.

Edit 2: Didn't work. Made it a little further but still failed to boot.

I don't own an iPhone 3G yet. However, on dario's release there is apperently an ugly clock.
