When I refresh sources, it is taking a heck of a long time to finish. Probably at least 10-14 minutes. And I dont even have that any sources yet. Im just off of a fresh 1.1.3 JB, so I only have maybe 2 added sources. How long is it taking the rest of you?

Since 1.1.3 Refreshing my sources take about 2 - 5 minutes now.
I've only added 3 extra sources.

It happens if you have a lot of sources, some might not work or take longer or be in use, try it at like 1 in the morning and see if it takes the same time. or try it at 4 in the morning mostly some of us in america are asleep.

Imagine the billions of people refreshing their sources list as they work through the jailbreak process.

A number of common sources are SLAMMED busy. Modmyifone.com is one good example. Note where your Installer stalls in its progress. It tackles sources starting at the top. If a source is being a turtle and your Installer stops for a nice 4 minute pause 3/4s the way through a refresh? The bum source is 3/4ths the way down from the top of the list. Try removing a few and re-adding as necessary.

Aw contraire, Pierre. I have a 10mb pipe and speedy wifi. If a source is contactable by Installer but slow to respond after that, it will stop your Installer refresh in its tracks for up to 5 minutes. Remove the bum source, everything is fine. I removed modmyifone and my refresh takes <less than 8 secs. Add it back in? 4.5 minutes.

A source that is completely down is ideal because it is skipped. A mere speed bump. A source that answers the phone, then fails to deliver the info is a huge delay for Installer.app
