    Hey,

I've seen a few threads about this but i just wanted to get some more opinions on what i should so...

So, i plan on reformatting my PC soon, and i want my iTunes to stay the same. I am more focused on my music still being organized with it's album art, etc, and i don't really care about the apps as i can just re download them. (If there is a way to copy over apps let me know though)

I have heard of this program called 'SharePod' as well as another method where you just copy the iTunes folder and then place it back once you reformat...

    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Padfoot

Best idea is to copy the iTunes folder to another computer or an external harddrive. Then copy everything back into iTunes... This will also back up the applications (Save you some time downloading lots of things)

    1. Copy your iTunes folder (that one inside My Music).
    2. Deauthorize the computer from iTunes before you format.
    3. Format, then install OS and install itunes
    4. Restore the folder to its original location then press shift while opening itunes. It will ask for library. Select the iTunes Library.xml file inside that restored folder.
    5. Your iTunes is the same. Now authorize your computer again which each appstore account you had.

    Thanks heaps!!
    I was also wondering...
Do i have to copy over all of the albums that are saved onto my computer? At the moment, i have my 'My Music' folder filled with separate folders for various albums. When i format should i copy these over as well?

Okay then, so i need to basically copy my whole 'My Music' folder, along with the iTunes folder to my reformatted computer?
