I'm about to reformat my entire laptop, and I was wondering, once I sync my iPod to my newly-reformatted computer, will it delete everything on my iPod, or will it put everything on my iTouch on my computer? Sorry, my iPod Touch is my first iPod, and I wanna make sure I don't delete all my data.

    Thanks!

SSH/SFTP into your ipod and get all your music first

    Sorry, i'm a n00b, but what's "SSH/SFTP"? Keep in mind, I'm not jailbroken. I'm on 1.1.2.

when you reformat your comp, the music in your ipod wont dissapear. ipods arent being forced to sync songs into the device. so basically if you reformat, you have to rebuild your computers library by redownloading it again but the songs in your ipod would still be there. to transfer songs just drag and drop songs into your ipod

alright, but if I plug it in before I had put everything back on, it will delete the songs I had yet to put back on my computer?

1.) Just burn a backup of all your data.
    2.) Reformat your computer
3.) Reimport and re-auth your computers on your itunes account.
    4.) Resync with ipod
    5.) ???
    6.) Profit!
