I have about 1 GB of stuff in "Other Memory". I was wondering if I restored, then got all my apps and data back, if the Other Memory junk would be cleansed.

    Any chance of that happening?
    Thank you.

The Other Memory is mostly corrupted files and Cydia stuff(mostly themes). If you do a fresh restore and set up as a new ipod then yea it will probally be smaller.

If I restore, then restore from backup, will my jailbreak be gone? And will all that junk still be there?

Or should I backup the data of my most important apps, restore, jailbreak, then resync all the apps, then get all my Cydia apps?

If you restore then ya your jailbreak is gone until your jailbreak again.

My "Other" part was about 500mb+. Then I had to restore for various reasons and when I was done and re-jailbroken it was down to 200mb roughly.

So yeah, it might save you some space.
