This might seem redundant or pointless, but there are many tutorial and help threads here, but few with results. While browsing before jailbreaking my touch, I rarely saw any posts that said "yes, it worked."

Just post whatever methods you used and the method that actually worked. Also, post any problems you had and what you did to fix them.

    Mine:

I struggled with the manual jailbreak. I still don't know why it wasn't working. I then discovered the redsn0w lite tool, and I went from there without any problems. I'm now running a jailbroken 2.2.1.

Post your success stories and lets see how many of you are jailbroken!
I will also attach a poll.

I followed the mac guide by veryniceipod and it worked (after merging it with the redsn0w.com guide). But since I normally use vista I would like to use that instead. The only problem is that I get the "no iphone/ipod found" error. Maybe this problem will be answered in this thread.

Yesterday i was in like every method thread. I was getting frustrated because i couldn't get iRecovery to execute. I spent hours last night trying to get passed that part. It seems like no matter what i did it would not work. So i gave up and went to bed. Today i just decided to try again and erase all the previous software needed for jailbreak and started from scratch. i saw this method http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137796 and decided to try it. And it worked. I was beyond relieved because i didn't want to go through what i went through last night of endless thread searching. i reccomend that method because it was easy, at least to me.

Make sure you installed libusb xD

Most people just skip over that since they don't read the entire tutorial.

I used jfb392's "A working Windows redsn0w tutorial." I had already compiled all the necessary files (iBSS211, iBSS221, iBoot211, PatchedFW) using several other tutorials, but I used this one from steps 11 through 14.
