Ok, so maybe I just screwed up big time.

I jailbroke my ipod with limera1n before and then deleted cydia because I didnt want to install anything. Now I decided that I wanted to make sure that my shshs are backed up.
Since redsn0w was released, i decided to just go to that and just select the "install cydia" option. It is now stuck at "uploading ramdisk" on my computer and "downloading jailbreak data" on my ipod.

I know that I probably should've restored first, but what should I do now? Just unplug it and try DFU mode?

EDIT: NEVERMIND, sorry guys. I just powered off and then back on and it worked. cydia didnt appear though.

I wouldnt have taken out cydia. why jailbreak if your not going to use cydia.
Just keep it stock if your not going to use cydia.

I would suggest a DFU and rejailbraking with redsnow or greenpoison.
Greenpoison is much more stable in my opinon. Check my sig for a tut.

You can also install cydia.deb through SSH if you have it.

I only wanted to do .plist mods. If i install stuff from cydia my battery life goes to sh*t. I was cleaning up unused apps and removing the temptation to install cydia mods.

I can't think of a single mod from cydia that I would use on a regular basis. I just got tired of jailbreak mods.

    Where can I get cydia.deb?

you can get the cydia.deb online. Google it.

Usually you can autoinstall deb files using cydia. But you dont have cydia.
    But it can be done.
You need an updated version of mobile terminal, which you can find the deb online too. But then Im not sure how you can install them without either cydia or mobile terminal already on the device.

Google for tutorial on options to install deb files.

    You may be stuck restoring.

If you wanted things like multitasking without jailbreaking, you can do it somehow without jailbreaking, i can't remember where i saw it though.

I do have ifile (thats how I made the .plist mods). I know that I can install a .deb with that. I found cydia.deb on google. (sorry for asking, i thought it would be harder to find than that) In what folder should I put the .deb file before I install it?

Im not sure. Sorry. I always install the deb files via SSH Cydia Autoinstall.

But if it can be done then you may have lucked out.

    Hope it works.
