The program works fine untill i put my ipod in DFU mode. redsn0w just stays on the waiting for reboot screen. the progress bar is there but never moves. I have IPT2G Mc model running on 4.1

That's a little too much info, nevertheless not unnecessary ..

Try using a different USB port, or run redsn0w again.

I hope you know, Redsn0w will be tethered.

once at waiting for reboot screen put your ipod on recovery mode, it will continue but actually will not jailbreak it, that's the only way i've found to go forward "waiting for reboot" :/

Try this, switch the USB port when it freezes on waiting for reboot. I remember doing this back when Redsn0w was out for iOS 2.2. The installer may suddenly continue if you try it. If not, then I don't know what else to tell you other than try a different computer or a Virtual Machine.
