Redsn0w 0.8 has been released by the dev team which supports the jailbreaking of every idevice out there. Make sure you are on 3.0. There is a great guide here BigBoss
Hope you enjoy it. Its by far the easiest jailbreak yet. Very Quick.

still a bit wary of doing this, I'm worried about having an issue with my phone and having to take it back... a few times i've had to contact O2 to get them to remotely change some things on my phone, are they able to tell if its JB'ed?

Stupid Dev Team used the exact same exploit as GeoHot and even copied the commands. The command that runs the payload is "geohot says dev team no stealing" in the Dev Teams version. I'm going to use Purplera1n anyway. I might even donate to George.

And it's dumb that you need the IPSW for the jailbreak you want to do. I mean, I have it, it's just an extra hassle. Purplera1n can be executed in under a minute.

people slated geohot's JB so much, but from what i've heard its quicker to use, easier to use and well, he did it first lol...

I'd heard that the Dev-Team did it first, but held back on a release.

the only reason i heard not to use Geohot's is that it was released unfinished. After he patched it i heard nothing bad, only that people trusted Dev team more and would wait for their release.

I think the dev team release is much more stable
