    Download the program Ziphone

Download, run the program, and then choose to boot into Normal Mode under Advanced Options.

If a problem persists, then I'd recommend a restore afterwords. If it was random, then just leave it alone.

    Hmmmmm,
I used ziphone, it says it's done and itunes is recognizing it and showing memory stats and stuff and i can sync, but the iphone screen shows the restore icon with a purple backround.

    Help please.

    Still not working,
I don't really want to re-do everything with an itunes restore? Is there any other way?

You have the iPod connected via USB cable and you chose to boot Normal Mode.

What caused it to restore. Did you install something then reboot. We need more background information of what you did before we can help you. A simple "ZOMG my ipod touch won't boot, i've tried this and this. what should i do?!" Isn't enough. More info! A restore is not always needed! If you can SSH then the problem can be fixed!
