well i hava a jailbroken ipod touch with 2.2 firmware... but i want to upgrade it to 2.2.1 or 3.0
i have wi fi on mi house but its very slow so reinstalling the cydia apps should take a lot of time or can be a failure...
i have aptbackup and heres my question...: if i upgrade to 2.2.1 or 3.0 and i reinstall aptbackup and use it to recover my old things, does it need wi fi to reinstall all the apps that i have before the upgrade?

aptbackup doesn't actually back up the applications themselves, but rather backs up the list of your applications: It then just redownloads them. To paraphrase; you do need WiFi.

You could transfer all applications in the /Applications/ folder using iPhoneBrowser, and then transfer them back after restore/upgrade, then chmod them to 755:

    1: Plug in iPhone/iPod
    2: Open iPhoneBrowser
3: Copy any Applications you need to your desktop
    4: Upgrade
    5: Open iPhoneBrowser
6: Transfer all applications on your desktop to /Applications/
    7: Open Terminal on iPod/iPhone
    8: Type 'chmod -R 777 /Applications/'
    9: Respring

Note that iPhoneBrowser can be replaced with another functional iPhone access client.

Use isafecopy it does it all for you. And backs up more than just apps. It backsup themes, mxtube video, ringtones and more. If you want more info just ask.

Yup, or you could use QuickPWN.
