    2G iPod touch
Hi, this is my first post so I'm sorry if its in the wrong place.

I have an iPod Touch 2g 32GB, not and iTouch like it is commonly referred to as.

I have tried to record sound through the line in to try to record sound and I've not had much luck.
I have connected it via a cable to my guitar amp and no luck and tried to record from my iMac's headphone jack and again no luck.
The iPod doesn't seem to pick up any audio in an of the apps I try (iTalk, voice memos and iprorecorder).

I was wondering if anybody knows what the problem might be as I'm stumped. I'm sure I've recorded sound from it in the past. Can the iPod touch 2g even take sound via audio in, or does it have to be through a compatible mic?

    Thanks in advance

    Kris

You need a mic that transmits over the 3rd ring, which is not on any line in or normal mic.
