I've hit a bit of a roadblock in my music collecting, in that I've run out of artists (or albums) that I want to get. I figured that what with this being an iPod forum, there would be a fair amount of music lovers, so I'm asking for some help. If you could, please recommend a good album/ artist.

    Genres that I like:
    Rock
    Indie/ Alternative
    Some techno
    Ska
    Anything except listed below

    Genres that I don't like:
Metal (some I don't mind, but don't like really hardcore metal)
    Screamo
    Country
    Rap

    Currently Enjoyed Artists:
    Arcade Fire
    Arctic Monkeys
    Beatles
    Fratellis
    Courteeners
    The Killers
    LCD Soundsystem
    Led Zepplin
    Ramones
    Modest Mouse
    Motion City Soundtrack
    Pink Floyd
    Radiohead
    Reel Big Fish
Suburban Kids with Biblical Names (thanks for that one Alex

Since you do not like metal, and I see that you like Led Zeppelin, perhaps you should try AC/DC. (Yes, there is pently of screaming, but the guitar solos are brilliant and the riffs memorable.)

    Also:

Kansas - "Carry on Wayward Son"

    Blue Oyster Cult - "Godzilla"

    Jimi Hendrix

    Forgot to mention AC/DC.

I should probably change it to hardcore metal, but I consider Zeppelin to be more rock than metal.

Thanks for all the suggestions! (btw, Carry on my Wayard Song is indeed an awesome song)

Call me what you want, but the only metal I listen to is "the beginning of metal". Early work by Black Sabbath has excellent guitar without the ridiculous distortion and mindless screeching of newer metal.
