i really really hate this cuz everytime i restart my ipod and i open an app (this includes music) i cant do anything its like the touch screen freezes when i open apps. i can still scroll through my apps on the spring board but yea i have to restart my ipos SEVERAL times till it works again (about 5 -7 times on average). i really hate it usually when i restart, the screen glitches up then takes me to the enter passcode screen. usually the ipod works the way its supposed to when the ipod reboots without the glitchy screen thing. im running a 8GB 1.1.4 jailbroken ipod. anyone got this problem? and fixes? is there an app that causes this?

This is what I suggest: This works for me.

    1. Press and hold the POWER button and the HOMe button.
    2. Keep holding them until the screen goes black.
    3. AS SOON AS THE SCREEN GOES BLACK - STOP HOLDING. If you carry on holding, you will put in into restore mode.
    4. Now, hold the power button to start it up again.

Everything should be working now that it's been forced to shut off.
    Try it

why not just kill the app... hold home button till the app closes.... and then re-open it... its faster than restarting the ipod.... anyways .. probably the solution would be restoring the ipod and rejailbreaking

Force shutting off doesn't work. Guys what happens is that the touch screen stops working when I open ANY app but the touch screen works when I'm on the springboard.

Heres another thing, when I press the sleep button while that glitch is going on the screen doesn't go completely black you can still see the slide to unlock screen but its just really dark.

Well, I would just suggest a restore. I'm not aware of any app that can remedy this.
