Alright. I will probably get called a nube but.....
I really think my ipod touch is ruined. I've been searching every website for a way to fix it. No luck. My ipod touch is stuck in recovery mode. I plug it into my computer hit the restore button in itunes. No i get an error message saying the ipod touch cannot be resotred. Ziphone does not see the ipod touch so no luck there. i took it into an apple store. could not fix. 2 months outta warranty. $175 for a new one. i went online did some looking. sent my touch to ipod juice.com they said they would have to replace the logic board for $165. I've tried anything. this thread is my last hope. a buddy of mine just got an iphone. will sell me his ipod touch for $150. Help a nube.

    Put it into manual DFU?

    Then restore?

Put your iPod into DFU mode and shift-click restore. Then find the firmware you want to restore to.
And it's not even close to a brick. If it even turns on at all then it's not bricked.

That just means you're not doing DFU mode correctly.
    Not. Bricked.

How is DFU mode such a difficult concept to grasp? Do you think DFU is powering off, and replugging while holding home?

If you think you're doing DFU wrong, there's no link more useful than this.

I am reading post about DFU mode and they all mention the part where you turn it off and slide and unlock. my touch never does the slide and unlock

Then just start doing regular DFU while it is still on?
