    Hey Guys,
The title pretty much says it all...just looking to find out roughly how long we are talknig about. The iPod 64gb is my first ipod touch, so I'm not familiar with how long these things normally take to come out.

Wow, lucky, and I think a week or so. I don't know for sure though, just my opinion. I'll vote 2 weeks though just to be safe

It does, but it isn't usable by the general public.

And I'm putting my bets on about a month. But I'm generally a pessimist.

    Thanks for the responses guys.
By the way, I'm not trying to bag the people making the jailbreak or trying to make them hurry up...I'm just curious to how long it will take, and what others believe. I've got a 20 hour bus ride in 6 days, so im praying that it will be out before then

If greenpois0n already works, all chronic has to do is work out the kinks and send it out for download. I voted one week but 2 weeks tops!

I'm new to Ipod Touch and heard much about jailbreak. What exactly does it mean? I just got a 64Gb and wants to know the benefit of having it jailbreak. Will it damage my ipod touch? I spent a lot of money and don't want any problems with it. I also have a 10 hours bus ride from Toronto to New York tomorrow and would like to learn all I can before I leave. Thank you!

well right now, the new ipod touch isnt jailbroken, so you dont have to worry about it, so just enjoy your ipod touch with music, videos and games for your bus ride.

There is no risk in jailbreaking...... other than voiding the warranty which can be restored by dfu mode. but in your case you can not jailbreak yet
but the main reason why people jailbreak is to be able to run 3rd party apps, have themes, and basically be unlocked from apples hold on there device
