Earlier today I upgraded Notifier (the one controlled by the "Reminder" app) and then later noticed my icons were going funny, like a tv screen with static. I ignored this problem.

I played Need for Speed Undercover for about 30 minutes, plugged into the charger, with a case on. I noticed the iPod was very warm when I was done.

I saw the staticy icons problem again and decided to reboot. Powered off the normal way (hold lock button), tried to turn it back on, and it didn't start. No apple logo or anything. DFU mode works but now it will not boot.

Thermal sensor? Problem with Notifier? Virus?

    Thanks for your help!!

Follow up: I got it to start after several DFU mode and hard reset tries. I'm going to back it up now.

    What could have caused this?
