So I read a post on here a couple of days ago that the Dev Team has an actual REAL 1.1.3 firmware Jailbreak (not the software one that we're all using) working but they are waiting to release it.

Does anyone have any clue as to why they're not releasing it yet or when they are going to release it?

SkylarEC said on January 29th that a month from that day they are releasing the Real Jailbreak for 1.1.3.

So I suppose that date is still going to be it.

My best guess is their not releasing it til the 29th because apple stated that they would release the SDK in february and its the 2nd now, which means that if they released the proper jailbreak now then apple would have time to patch it and release the SDK and new f.w required to use the SDK on say the 28th of feb... but this way, apple cant patch what they dont know

so hopefully the SDK will be released and wel have a method to jailbreak almost instantly after the new f.w is out

with 3rd party apps, Hope this clears it up
(Thats just my oppinion, there might be another reason they arent releasing it soon)

Nobody knows EXACTLY when the SDK is gonna come out [except maybe Apple, but they still might be fixing stuff], so nobody can really say when the JB is gonna be released. [unless the 29th is a set date, and the dev team got that info somewhere]

Urm, no, that would be called giving away company secrets, which is for the most part illegal.

To answer the OP's question; yes, they do have a proper jailbreak, but they're not releasing it until after the SDK, so that Apple don't have a chance to patch the exploit by creating a new firmware that is required for the SDK. At the moment, firmware 1.1.3 is fully compatible with the SDK (well, it has the framework in place, so if it wasn't compatible, that would be ridiculous), and we don't want Apple to change that. When the SDK is released, the proper jailbreak will follow.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure 1.1.3 can run all the SDK apps when they are released, unless Apple changed the framework and the one they have in 1.1.3 now is just a beta or something, which is why the dev team is keeping the JB secret, just in case they update the framework in 1.1.4 and release that with the SDK, they won't patch the JB [unless they somehow got a copy of it]
