I recently just figured this all out a couple days ago.

Install bookreader from cydia, which is a nice ebook reader, but it only accepts .html format. I'm on a mac, and I use an app called stanza to convert .pdf, .lit, etc. files to .html, then ssh them to var/mobile/media/eBooks

    Good luck!

I am using Stanza on a JB 2.1 IT. I have ssh to var/mobile/media and there is no /eBooks. I created one and put a MS doc file there but no joy seeing it in Stanza. How do I get doc, rtf, txt files to be read by Stanza. I used to use book.app in 1.1.4 and it worked great.

    Thanks!

You can't SSH them in there - Stanza doesn't read those files natively, and needs the Stanza Desktop app to convert them for reading by Stanza. Check their website out, if you have a Mac. Otherwise, you need to use Safari or textReader or some other program to read them. Like say... Air Sharing, Caravan, or MobileFinder.

    Finding book files

To find out where to dump ebooks into stanza I run

    find / -name *Verne*

this will return the location of all files with Verne in them. I also have downloaded the free copy of Jules Verne's from the earth to the moon. Then just dump the new book where that is.

I have Ebook on my Itouch--it's not Jbroke---all I did was access ebooks with the Touch and it downloaded right to it---it asks what format you want when you do it.
